Stalling

Of course, I'm on the computer instead of cleaning the house.

I have a couple of pictures to share this morning. I DID get that done yesterday!

This one is of the first King Salmon caught by Fishing Guy on the 21st of May.

And this is that same fish compared to the kids...

This is one shot from the Last Fieldtrip of the Year. We went to Auke Nu during low tide to look at tide pools. The four of us decided to name ourselves "The Responsibles" since we went on virtually every fieldtrip together. We also have playgroup together on Thursdays. FYI - we are not looking our finest either.

And the last one for today. This is The Princess just after getting her Kindergarten diploma and personalized PINK bible. She was thrilled -really!

OK - now I'm really off to clean up around here.

So much...

...to catch up on!

The kids are officially out of school for the summer! Yippee! We also have an addition to the family for the summer -- Snowflake the Hamster. The Prince will take him back to the classroom in the fall when he goes to Kindergarten. I'm hoping that he gets the same teacher The Princess had this year.

We had our last fieldtrip yesterday to the beach and I realized that I am already taking the Alaska-ness stuff for granted. We did a trip up the tram a few weeks ago and I bet that no one else gets to do that. The public school kids went on whale watching tours too. I'm looking forward to that one next year with The Princess. Anyway, we found sea urchins, crabs, sea anemones and a baby sea star. Great fun!

So for the Holiday Weekend... Of course, Fishing Guy has to work.

I'm trying to get the house cleaned up, kid's rooms in order and maybe find some stuff suitable for a garage sale on Monday. So far this morning, I've tackled the kitchen (most of it) and copied some recipes onto cards so that they fit in the box. (With Crafty Neighbor moving, we are trying to get copies of each others recipes before she leaves.) We have a Tee ball game this afternoon and the evening is packed with a Going-Away BBQ for another manager and then Fishing Guy and I are going to a concert at 8 pm.

Tomorrow is church and maybe helping a friend move. Monday there is a Neighborhood Garage Sale and I have a few things to put out.

After that, we have 2 weeks before we leave on vacation. I'm deep in the planning for VBS and we are going to add hikes to the playgroup schedule. The kids will be in withdrawal not seeing each other everyday!

I need to get some pictures uploaded off the camera, so maybe I'll do that while I fold laundry and post some in a little bit.

Have a Great Day!

Making time

I'm actually up before the kids and I thought I'd check in for a few minutes before the day gets away from me.

On today's schedule we have school for both kids, playgroup this afternoon and Fishing Guy and I have a dinner banquet to go to. The banquet is the cause of my anxiety right now. It is the Length of Service Dinner and The Company BigWigs are in town for it. I had to buy a new outfit for it and I'm feeling very nervous about the whole thing. Fishing Guy is the one that is good at the politics stuff and I'm just hoping I don't get nervous and start babbling.

Anyway, I have quite a while until I have to really worry about it so I'm going to go enjoy the day.

ACK!!

Things are crazy.

I've got Tee Ball, VBS, End of School, Vacation Planning, Thursday Playgroup, Project Playground and class fieldtrips (times two) on top of the normal house and wife stuff.

I'm trying to knit - just cast on my first sock last night and I have a blanket for The Prince on the needles too. I have a quilt almost finished, just need to find the binding fabric and finish it up.

During the two days of sun, we went bike riding and bought and put together a grill. (Happy Mother's Day to me) We were out until late both nights and I am actually happy for the rain today.

I try everyday to carve out some computer time, but I find that I'm actually using it for typing letters, using Quicken and making forms and flyers with PrintShop instead of blogging.
