We went to visit good friends this weekend.

What a nice break to get away, even just for overnight. Something we couldn't do for 3 years while we were in Alaska.

I haven't had a chance to edit and title all the pictures I uploaded this afternoon, so you can browse through at your own risk. There are a couple of blurry ones and since I shoot digital, I take multiples and edit from there.

The one above was a surprise when I looked at it on the computer. A happy surprise though.

Among shopping for emergency preparedness things and clothes for the kids, I found a few things for myself. The thing the kids noticed as soon as I picked them up from school yesterday afternoon was the new shoes. They are nothing special - found at Wal-Mart for $20 - but they definitely look cool. I think I can jump higher and run faster too.
